About Royal Hotel Whitby

Dear Friends
In light of the Prime Minister's announcement , we are sad to say that our hotel  will be closing from Thursday 5th November as part of the National Lockdown, until 2nd December.
We  aim to be in touch with all of our affected customers over the course of the week and we will  be doing this  in date  order.

So, if you have an upcoming booking during this period,  we would ask that you  either cancel via the company with whom you made your original booking, or wait for the hotel to get in touch with you.
Please note our phone lines will not be manned after Wednesday 4th . Should  you need to contact the hotel directly, please use the email address shown on the contact page .
In the  meantime, we wish you and your families  well .

Stay  safe.

From its clifftop position, the Royal Hotel,Whitby overlooks beaches, harbour, old town and abbey ruins. It has 115 bedrooms – many overlooking the coastline and beaches – as well as restaurant and bar, making it a perfect destination hotel for a short break or holiday, plus the added bonus that it is within easy reach of seaside towns and countryside. There is a ballroom with a programme of entertainment that includes comedy, cabaret, dancing, singers and quizzes.

Whitby itself has often been voted one of Britain’s best holiday resorts. It has a pretty harbour, cobbled streets, independent shops, a famous Captain Cook Memorial Museum, sandy Blue Flag beach, and a regular programme of activities and events, especially in the summer season.

If you want to venture out for the day, you have the North York Moors National Park, and a spectacular coastline with more cliffs, beaches and fishing villages. Why not take a whale-watching voyage, or visit the famous Whitby Abbey.
