The Kintore Arms Hotel is an excellent base from which to explore the wonders of the Aberdeenshire and Grampian landscapes. Close to Inverurie, are the Newseat stone circle and Easter Aquorthies - examples of 3rd millennium BC monuments. The Battles of Inverurie (1308 and 1745) and Battle of Harlaw (1411) are always of interest to visitors to this area.
Other notable local attractions include Fraser Castle, Fyvie Castle and the Loch of Strathbeg (a wildlife Special Protection Area).
There are many fine golf courses in the area and the Cairngorns National Park is a 40-minute drive.
